About the job 

As a Student Assistant in Group Operations you become part of a competitive and dynamic organisation that gives you the opportunity for both personal and professional development in close relationship with experienced business professionals. You will work with data science inside Databricks, where you will take part in end-to-end machine learning projects, build complete data engineering pipelines for those projects and others. Our standard programming language is Python, but if you are familiar with R, the transition should be minor.

You will become part of our data science team where you will be working as an integrated member of the team and contribute to a broad spectrum of tasks and projects. The position is part-time, approx. 10-15 hours per week and the job is based in Middelfart. We will support you in balancing the job with your studies.

What we offer is the chance to use industry standard data science tools within our cloud computing platform Azure Databricks, where you will receive training in using Spark, leverage deltalakes, manage DS project lifecycle, automating tasks using scheduling and appropriate clusters.

Your main responsibilities include:  

  • Gathering and combining data from internal and external sources
  • Developing content to reports and presentations 
  • Data preparation/transformation
  • Optimization of processes via coding

A positive mind with interest in data  

We are looking for a colleague who has a positive mind-set, is a pronounced team player and has a great interest for working with data science including machine learning and ETL tasks. You should prefer to work independently and structured with a focus on improvement of existing solutions and to bring forward new ideas. As a person you are committed, flexible and ready for change, as no days are similar. Furthermore, you must possess the following qualifications:  

  • Experience with programming in Python and good knowledge of DS modules is a plus, not required, those being:
    • Pandas, Numpy, Spark
    • Sklearn, tensorflow, pytorch
    • Plotly, matlplotlib
  • Good understanding of basic machine learning algorithms and data science best practices in terms of data transformations and preperation
  • Economics (oecon), data science, or business (HA) student at a bachelor’s or master level
  • Analytical mind-set
  • Ability to think out of the box
