Reporting to and supporting the Head of Sustainable Operations, our New Fuels Technical Operations Manager will be a key stakeholder in executing and driving various strategic initiatives in our journey towards a greener maritime industry. Bunker Holding expects to play a leading role in the energy transition towards sustainable and zero-emission fuels and we are looking for a driven, passionate professional, who with market leading operations expertise, combined with a commercial mindset can navigate the waters of this ever-changing industry.

An expert profile with first hand technical and operational experience, combined with an ability to navigate the rapidly evolving arena of green fuels
The New Fuels Technical Operations Manager will play a key role in ensuring that the world’s leading supplier of marine fuels has the operational know how to safely deliver a broad range of green fuels to our global customer base.  As such, you will bring deep knowledge and first-hand experience in the operation of gas barges and the technical and regulatory intricacies connected with their safe operation. In addition to your operational expertise, you will also possess a capacity for considering the technical and regulatory challenges around the commercialization of new marine fuels. As such, it is expected that you will participate in numerous initiatives, conferences, as well as playing a leading role in relevant industry working groups.

Professional and personal skills:
We expect you to have minimum 7 years’ experience in the operations of LNG bunker vessels or small gas carriers, preferably in a senior role. In addition to your operational experience in LNG bunkering, a pre-existing knowledge of the handling of methanol or ammonia will be extremely important.

Furthermore, you have:

  • A personable nature and an open-minded disposition with a willingness to do what’s needed to get the job done
  • Great stakeholder management skills
  • Evidence of engaging closely with customers/partners
  • Experience with building up a new operations desk considered a plus

Experience in communicating with and gaining buy-in from a broad range of stakeholders such as senior business leaders, peers, global partners, and team members to achieve business goals are key to success. You have the ability to anticipate and interpret market changes as well as envision future trends to leverage into business opportunities.

Areas of responsibilities

  • First-hand experience in the scheduling and day to day operations of cryogenic bunker barges
  • Experience in carrying out LNG barge ship-to-ship compatibility assessments
  • Experience connected to securing LNG bunker licences in ports
  • Experience participating in HAZID/HAZOP workshops with end users/port authorities/key local stakeholders.
  • Experience participating in industry working groups
  • Ability to participate in customer facing meetings with commercial, technical and operations teams.
